July 18, 2018: The Chapter’s first quarterly meeting in FY 2019 will be held at Ironwood Golf Course on 7/18/18 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. January 10, 2018Our FY 18 third quarterly meeting will be held at Ironwood Golf course on 01/10/18. April Shuping, CPA, Manager, with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC will be speaking on Intermediate Accounting. October 11, 2017:  Our FY 18 second quarterly meeting was held at Ironwood Golf course and featured our first ever luncheon prior to the meeting!!  The luncheon proved to be a success as over 50 members attended the meeting.  We were delighted to have William Blend, of Moore Stephens Lovelace PA, speak to us about Issues Impacting Governments:  Fraud, Data Mining and Single Audit.  Please see attached for copy of his presentation.  Issues Impact Gov 10.11.17

April 19, 2017: The Chapter’s Annual Meeting for FY 2017 was held on April 19, 2017 at Best Western Gateway Grand from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The meeting provided eight hours of CPE and included the election of FY 2018 Officers. Fraud Red Flags and What you Can Do

January 11, 2017: The third quarterly meeting in FY 2017 was held on January 11th at Ironwood Golf Course from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.  Amanda Swindle, Counsel for Florida Municipal Power Agency, presented about Florida Public Records. October 12, 2016: The second quarterly meeting in FY 2017 was held on October 12th at Ironwood Golf Course from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Curtis McAllister, IT Consulting Manager with James Moore & Co. presented “Cyber Security, Identity Theft, & Safe Computing Practices.”  Donna Collins, President of Milestone Professional Services, presented “Developing Good Internal Control.”   The Chapter held a successful Happy Hour after the meeting for additional networking opportunities. July 13, 2016:  The first quarterly meeting in FY 2017 was held on July 13th at Ironwood Golf Course from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.  Sarah Koser, Interim Finance Director for the Villages Community Development Districts, presented “Capital Assets – Is it an Asset and Where is it?”  Michael McKee, Vice President and CFO for the University of Florida, presented “UF Budget System”.  A total of 47 members attended the meeting. April 20, 2016:  The Chapter’s annual meeting was a success!  Meeting was held on April 20, 2016 at the Freedom Community Center from 8:30am to 4:30pm.  Eight hours of CPE were provided. 

The Chapter would like to thank the following speakers for presenting:  (1) SunTrust Bank:  Lisa Hayes, Lauren Butler, and Nick Ferrero presented “onUp Momentum”;  (2) Purvis Gray:  Barbara Boyd and Mark White presented “GASB Updates” and Tiffany Mangold presented “Single Audit Update”; (3) PFM Asset Management LLC:  Steve Alexander presented “Investment Analyst Challenge” and Michael Stewart presented “Policy and Cash Flow Updates”; James Moore & Company:  Trey Long presented “Internal Controls.” 

Fiscal Year 2017 Officers were elected as follows:  President Dallas Lee, Vice-President Amanda Hagan, Secretary Claudia Rasnick, and Treasurer Sequita Solomon.

A total of 75 members attended the meeting.

January 13, 2016:  The third quarter meeting in FY 2016 was held on January 13, 2016 at Ironwood Golf Course.  David Jang, of Wertz York Capital Management Group, presented on Economic Update.  Jeremy Niedfeldt, of PFM, presented on “Municipal Market Update—It’s a New Year.”  A total of 27 members attended the meeting.  Municipal Market Update; Economic Update
