July 24, 2019: The first quarterly meeting of FY 2020 was held at the Ironwood Golf Course. Our speakers included Barbara Boyd and Tim Westgate from Purvis Gray and Co LLP and Jim Troiano from St. Johns River Water Management District. Barbara spoke on Fiduciary Activities, GASB Statement No. 84 and Tim presented on Leases, GASB Statement No. 87. Jim gave a presentation on Situational Awareness.
April 16, 2019: Our annual meeting was held at Best Western Gateway Grand from 8:30am-4:30pm. Our speakers were Alex Brown and Kyle Macyda with Plante Moran who discussed Staying Secure when Transforming to a Digital Government and Being Prepared for our Journey to the Cloud, Zach Chalifour and Brendan McKitrick from James Moore & Co who presented Internal Control: Best Practices and What Can Go Wrong, Olga Rabel the Assistant County Budget Officer with Sumter County BOCC who presented Leadership 2.0 and John Grady from Public Trust Advisors LLC who spoke on A Market Update and Investment Strategies in the Current Market.
January 9, 2019: Our third quarterly meeting was held at Ironwood Golf Course from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Michelle McHale from Plante Moran discussed Fraud, Fiscal Pressures and Professional Skepticism Collide and How Data Analytics Detects Fraud.

July 18, 2018: The Chapter’s first quarterly meeting in FY 2019 was held at Ironwood Golf Course on 7/18/18 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. April 18, 2018: Our FY 18 annual meeting will be held at Plantation Hall on 4/18/18. The annual meeting will offer eight hours of CPE and include election of our FY 2019 Officers. A catered lunch will be provided by Cowboyz.

October 11, 2017: Our FY 18 second quarterly meeting was held at Ironwood Golf course and featured our first ever luncheon prior to the meeting!! The luncheon proved to be a success as over 50 members attended the meeting. We were delighted to have William Blend, of Moore Stephens Lovelace PA, speak to us about Issues Impacting Governments: Fraud, Data Mining and Single Audit. October 12, 2016: The second quarterly meeting in FY 2017 was held on October 12th at Ironwood Golf Course from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Curtis McAllister, IT Consulting Manager with James Moore & Co. presented “Cyber Security, Identity Theft, & Safe Computing Practices.” Donna Collins, President of Milestone Professional Services, presented “Developing Good Internal Control.” The Chapter held a successful Happy Hour after the meeting for additional networking opportunities. July 13, 2016: The first quarterly meeting in FY 2017 was held on July 13th at Ironwood Golf Course from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Sarah Koser, Interim Finance Director for the Villages Community Development Districts, presented “Capital Assets – Is it an Asset and Where is it?” Michael McKee, Vice President and CFO for the University of Florida, presented “UF Budget System”. A total of 47 members attended the meeting. April 20, 2016: The Chapter’s annual meeting was a success! Meeting was held on April 20, 2016 at the Freedom Community Center from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Eight hours of CPE were provided.
The Chapter would like to thank the following speakers for presenting: (1) SunTrust Bank: Lisa Hayes, Lauren Butler, and Nick Ferrero presented “onUp Momentum”; (2) Purvis Gray: Barbara Boyd and Mark White presented “GASB Updates” and Tiffany Mangold presented “Single Audit Update”; (3) PFM Asset Management LLC: Steve Alexander presented “Investment Analyst Challenge” and Michael Stewart presented “Policy and Cash Flow Updates”; James Moore & Company: Trey Long presented “Internal Controls.”
Fiscal Year 2017 Officers were elected as follows: President Dallas Lee, Vice-President Amanda Hagan, Secretary Claudia Rasnick, and Treasurer Sequita Solomon.
A total of 75 members attended the meeting.
